Tackle Box bridge or Buffum’s bridge

Roy Brown’s Tackle Box was located on the west side of the Battenkill where County Rt 61 crosses the river. Thus, many called this the Tackle Box bridge.

Ondawa Farms, owned by the Buffum’s, was located on the east side of the river. Buffum’s had several small yellow cabins along the Battenkill that fishermen could rent. Thus, many called this Buffum’s Bridge.

I went to Google Maps to grab an image and found that even Google couldn’t settle the difference, putting both names on the map.

Whatever the bridge is/was called, everyone agrees the Tackle Box was Roy & Ann Brown’s place. Whether you stopped to get fishing gear or food or just to tell some tales, the Tackle Box was “the” place to be … next to “the” bridge.
