On 21-Jun-2023 I gave a presentation about the District schools in the towns of Cambridge, White Creek, and Jackson. I discussed why District schools were started, how they evolved into Union schools, and later centralized schools.
I explained how NYS school tax laws evolved, from where only people with children in school paid school tax to where all district residents had to pay tax.
I assembled maps and photos of the one-room schoolhouses in the 3 towns. I also included several photos of student bodies.
