Main Street Flood: March 13-14, 1977

The green Victorian footbridge. The fire dept had to tie one end of a rope around the bridge and the other around a nearby tree to prevent the footbridge from being lifted off its abutments.

David Carlson and Teddy Dwyer took the opportunity to paddle their canoe across the front lawn of Rice Seed (Asgrow, now VARAK Park)

The other photo is Eagleville covered bridge lifted off its abutments. The photo is looking westward on Eagleville Road, just west of Rt 313. Roger Meyer sawed the timbers used to rebuild the bridge
